Weirdest Restaurants In the World

You might have heard of restaurants where diners suspend 50 metres up in the open air or watching schools of fish swim by 5 metres below sea-level. But have you heard of diners having meals in their bathing suit?

These are rather unique restaurants that are absolutely bizarre and out of this world, making them the most vivid memories of many travellers and food enthusiasts.

Tree House Restaurant (New Zealand)

“Let Your Fingers Do the Walking”

The Tree House Restaurant was created in New Zealand for a marketing campaign for Yellow Pages. In order to prove that something big can be completed using the Yellow, they built this restaurant 10 metres up a redwood tree. The whole construction took only 66 days!

Linking to the pod-shaped restaurant is a tree-top walkay to provide easy access. The Tree House Restaurant can seat 30 peas or can accommodate 50 peas standing. Okay, I couldn’t help it. I meant guests and not peas.:)

Dinner In the Sky Restaurant (Belgium)

Not For the Faint-Heated

Strap on and enjoy the ride! Or rather, your meals!:)

The Dinner In the Sky restaurant in Belgium is definitely not for anyone with Acrophobia(fear of heights). Once you’re strapped to your seats, the diner will be hoisted 50 metres up in the air, suspended by a crane.

According to Wikipedia, The Dinner In the Sky Restaurant is called one of the world’s ten most unusual restaurants by Forbes magazine. I myself call it one of world’s most exciting meals.

Hope they provide airsickness bags up there.

Ithaa Restaurant (Maldives)

World’s First Underwater Restaurant

Ithaa means pearl in Dhivehi.

It was designed in New Zealand and was supposed to be built on the beaches of Rangali. But due to limited resources, technical difficulties and quality control issues, the decision was then made to have the structure constructed in Singapore and then transport it back to Maldives. It is the world’s first underwater restaurant, mostly made from acrylic and secured five metres below sea level at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island in Rangalifinolhu, Maldives.

The five-by-nine meter restaurant has a capacity of 14 people and offers a 270° panoramic view. Meals range in cost from US$120.00 (lunch for hotel guests on Full Board meal plan) to US$150.00 (dinner for hotel guests on Bed & Breakfast meal plan).

You can also spend the night at Ithaa at a rate of a whooping US$11,710 per night! If you do, Ithaa will be closed for the evening for you to stay overnight and I would love to hear your experience!

Clothing Optional Dinners (Manhattan)

Don’t Worry. The Windows Are Covered.

In Manhattan, a social event is created by nudist activist, John J. Ordover. Clothing Optional Dinners happens once a month where nudists or naturists gather in various restaurants around Manhattan. Once they enter the restaurant, they will disrobe to nothing, either in the restrooms or right in the dining room, and carry on as per normal. Each patron will have to bring a towel to sit on and their motto is “No hot soup”.

Such gatherings will definitely raise a few eyebrows, but the mention of actually attending such a gathering is sure to elicit the exact same look on everyone’s face. And really, the windows will be covered.

Niagara Falls Hotel Packages

Since Niagara Falls may be viewed from its New York or Canadian border, guests are offered twice as many travel opportunities in visiting the falls. Tourists may opt between visiting New York or Canada, but both locations offer strategic views and attractive activities that will serve as the highlight of your trip. Travel companies and tour groups offer extensive tour and accommodation packages for those who intend to visit Niagara Falls.

Niagara Falls hotel packages come in different varieties that may be custom designed to fit the needs of the clients. Planning a Niagara Falls vacation, including how to get there, where to stay and what places to visit may all be included in one of these packages for one reasonable price. Furthermore, these hotel packages may be booked securely online or through trusted travel guides and services.

Bigger hotel chains situated in Niagara Falls often offer hotel packages and are well-trusted for their excellent service and facilities. Newer hotels that are still making their marks in the Niagara Falls hotel industry may provide a cheaper alternative in coming up with hotel packages that include all possible services from ticket booking, accommodations, and visitor activities for the traveler’s convenience.

Still, if these Niagara Falls hotel packages do not appeal to your interest or if you have other hotels in mind, contacting your trusted and reliable travel agent to arrange special hotel packages with your demands in mind may be the best option. Remember that hotel packages are quite attractively because of the many added bonuses that they provide. Aside from the convenience that comes with pre-booking hotel packages, one can also choose which places to visit and what hotel to stay in while in Niagara. Depending on the hotel, the traveler may be able to choose which room to stay in, the meals that will be included, and mode of transportation while in Niagara Falls. Taking advantage of a Niagara Falls hotel package may actually cost less if planned and booked in coordination with certified travel agencies.

Outdoor Summer Camp Adventures That Kids Look Forward To

Summers take on a new level of excitement once your kids are old enough to go to camp, and parenting today requires coming up with new activities that pull your kids away from their electronics. At an adventure-based summer camp, your kid will never complain about spending time outside because they will be having too much fun testing their abilities with new challenges. During your search for a quality summer camp, look for these favorite outdoor adventures that kids look forward to all year long.

Build Survival Skills With Overnight Camping

For many kids, spending the night camping is the ultimate adventure. During summer camp overnight trips, cabin groups get to head out across the water and camp out in a wilderness location. There, they learn how to build a campfire, set up a safe shelter and follow outdoor safety rules. Once camp is set up, campers then get to enjoy some camaraderie as they roast marshmallows and sing songs around the fire.

Learn Awesome Waterskiing and Wakeboarding Tricks

Many people waterski at least once in their lifetime. However, kids who go to summer camp get to dive into watersports and discover a passion for adventure. During waterskiing and wakeboarding lessons, kids gradually work through a system of skills each day until they have mastered the coolest tricks. Returning campers look forward to progressing in their lessons each summer until they are confidently doing jumps and flips with the proficiency of a competitive skier or wakeboarder.

Soar Through the Air in Aerial Acrobatics Classes

Adventure camps take gymnastics lessons and amplify them with specialized training in aerial acrobatics. For many kids, summer camp is one of the few places where they can strengthen their skills in the safety of a state-of-the-art gym that is equipped with features such as bungee systems that allow kids to safely learn to fly. Aerial silks are one example of acrobatics where kids can learn how to conquer their fears as they perform tricks that dazzle an audience, and trampolining accents a kid’s competitive abilities in a wide range of sports.

Enjoy Freedom to Explore New Friendships and Fun

Although summer camp experiences are always enjoyed under careful supervision, many of the biggest adventures that kids have start with having the freedom to explore new opportunities to socialize and develop new interests. During free times, kids get to venture out on the water and engage in serious play activities such as canoe races and floating on inflatable water toys. Spontaneous kid-led sports competitions are a common sight on the campgrounds, and the positive atmosphere created at camp stimulates kids to try things that they would have never thought of trying before at home. Whether a kid enjoys working through each new height of a ropes course or flying on the Tarzan swing, every moment is packed full of adventure.

Kids look forward to adventure camp all year long, and it’s common to see kids practicing the skills they learned the year before as they get ready for their upcoming summer. Whether your kid was practically born with fins and loves the water or they prefer to bounce their days away on a trampoline, you can enjoy knowing that they will be full of stories when they return from their summer camp about their amazing adventures.
